Liverpool fans keeping it classy as ever.
Joachim Andersen of palace says he's received hundreds of messages of abuse on social media, including death threats, for the heinous crime of being headbutted by Darwin Nunez.

Best fans in the world etc. etc.

Re: Liverpool fans keeping it classy as ever.
Social Media is the only connection some people have to reality.

As a nation - perhaps as a species - we've become more insular. People of my generation moved, more than ever, away from their families in order to find work.

At first, if the distances were not too great, physical contact was maintained - I'd make time to visit my parents & brothers and they would do likewise, but as demands of work increased, this more often then not became twice (then once) weekly phone calls to keep abreast of what was happening.

Social media is a natural technological extention of those phone calls; the problem is that it's no longer private (as an e-mail would be), and everybody likes a bit of (extra) attention, so they'll go fishing for it (by keeping everything "Look at me" public).

Quite frequently, "Jaws" takes the bait and they can't cope.

The best advice really is to totally sack off SM and go back to phone calls, e-mails and whatever passes for Teletext these days. Something along the lines of "If you can't stand the heat..."

More social media bollox that shouldnt be taken seriously.

Had Twitter been about in 98 I'm sure some of our lot would have been sending death threats to Beckham rather than burning efigy's of him.

Total nonsense all eound.

I reckon Dawson would get a rise out of the smelly Uruguayan within the first three mins of the game.

As a head of year in a senior school,o cam catgorically state that social media comments, threats, fake pages etc is where the vast majority of shit and bullying comes from these days.

What I DID tell you was that social media companies should be regarded as publishers and if someone like Mr Andersen receives death threats the identities of these people should be provided by Instagram (as I think was the culprit here)to the police.
If they cant di this THEY should be held responsible for the threats and if this continues they should be shut down.
Without the likes of Twitter, Facebook, Instagram requiring proper identity checks of people who they publish they could all be barred in the UK.
Reckon they'd all be closed down by Christmas.
Which would be a boon to he nation.

Obviously there would be plenty of police to deal with violent crime once the Tories start governing again and reverse all their cuts to police numbers.

I think being called Darwin has led him to have anger issues. Now all the Premeir League centre halves will know how to press his buttons.

I'm being serious.

We need our police and government to focus on twitter and Facebook. Forget serious crimes, like people being violently robbed, or burgled. Words on the internet are the serious crimes of the day.

Sven told me this.

Normal procedure is black armbands, a big rant from four eyes, demand the card rescinded and a grovelling public apology from Andersen, Crystal Palace as a club, along with all the travelling supporters and half of London.

Being Uruguayan Nunez should have known better and the Liverpool fans should be ranting from afar at him instead.....he got the sorts of stuff done to him that is rife across all continents when playing up front.

Just saw the video. Loved the dramatic music, fucking scouse wankers. The CB just defended, did absolutely nothing whatsoever wrong. Red card 3 game ban. Lets hope the grief murderers appeal and he gets even longer. Lets hope all the other CBs take note and wind the soft Portuguese cunt up as well.

Pity City living up to it's name.

If any one ever does anything at Liverpool FC then it's always justified.

I never saw the video but went looking and this was the first one that came up - a vieo coubting the times he was provoked into reacting.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJB9SlRM6H4

So they are saying he tried to wind him Nunez up and Nunez just reacted? Fuck me I've never seen that happen in a Premier League game before!

Eerie is a beacon for his community in cracking down on homophobic abuse of people who will never see such abuse.
Prince William has pegged him as one to watch in the LGBTQ+ advocacy community.

Robbery victims need to join the queue behind completely oblivious abused pooves in Eerie's world

Eerie - I usually agree with you on this sort of thing. Online abuse should be water off a duck's back to anyone nowadays.

If true, the death threats are probably a step too far though.
